A short escape from reality.

And suddenly I found myself in Sagada, a small town located in the North of Luzon. It's a 10 to 12 hours trip from Manila. We started our journey at exactly 5'o clock in the morning (supposed to be we want to set off early as possible and because I'm a total sucker I was freaking drunk last night so we missed our 2 am bus.) We took off a bus from Manila to Baguio, It's a 5 hour trip with no stop overs and since I am sober I just slept the entire trip. Next thing I know is we are in Baguio.

Baguio, the summer capital of the Philippines . We arrived around 10 am and head of to Baguio Grand Terminal where we catch the 11 am bus to Sagada. It was another 6 hour long bus ride and God the road was steep and challenging, there are cliffs that you cannot see the end, Unpredictable Fog or cloud that would suddenly appear and surprise zero visibility for our Driver, But this time I did not slept nor I was tired.

But why? Is It the fear that we might fell off the cliff and die. No, rather it was the amazing view of the mountains that I don't want to missed if I close my eyes.

And finally after 6 long hours. Its was already dark and damn chilly and we were greeted by a rain shower . We arrived around 6'o clock in the evening at our lodge.

We stayed at Misty's Lodge a local family owned business in Sagada ( btw I will be creating another blog for Misty's since It's one of the best places to dine and stay in Sagada.)

We booked 2 nights in this cozy lodge and arrived drench in rain but was greeted and accommodated immediately. Since we already arrived late as we expected we did not get a chance to go and plan our trip in Sagada Municipal Tourist Center , but luckily our Lodge offer a tour guide and help us plan our activities for tomorrow.

Okay Let's talk about Pro's and Con's about setting up the activities for the next day.

PROS

Before I start I highly recommend our Tour Guide Kuya Dave. He's freaking chill AF, Here's he's number in case you want to book him when you happen to visit Sagada.

Kuya Dave +63168956997 . Okay let's start !

  • You'll have the privilege to have private tour guide. A private vehicle which will take you to the drop off point and pick you up back to the lodge.

  • You'll have a ton of time reflecting and appreciating the beauty of the scenery since your not in a crowded group and also take ton's of photo's and videos since you have a private guide.

CONS

  • Since It's only me and my Boyfriend basically we have to share the expenses of tour, and man oh man ! Its was a little bit pricey, compared if you're sharing as a group. So we decided to just narrow down the places that are worth to visit. Sagada has a lot to offer and staying for just 3 days is definitely not enough to visit all the beautiful spots of this little town.

So my take here is definitely I still wanted to have a DIY or private tour with a guide rather than sticking with a group. I am a very anxious and awkward human being. I'm pretty much afraid of large crowds and since I travel here to find peace and unwind I would still prefer getting a private tour even it's a little bit pricey. But on the other hand if you're on a budget you can still go with a group and share the expenses and still appreciate the amazing scenery that this town offers.

After setting up the activities for tomorrow we head back to our room and rest because we know that it will be a Big Day !
